‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star Christopher Meloni Addresses ‘Glute-Peeping Public’ Checking Out his Backside

by Suzanne Halliburton

Yes, Christopher Meloni acknowledges he has an impressive backside. He’s a rocking 60-years-old, but his glutes defy his age.

So, of course, his rear end was part of a recent discussion with Interview.

“This is what has happened,” Christopher Meloni, who plays Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Organized Crime, explained about his backside. “I’ve been blessed with glutes that have an attractive shape. But I have a trainer, and we’re going through bodybuilding phases. And where everyone kind of caught me was that I’d been preparing for one year in a very high-intensity weight training program that actually focused on legs. So I guess you could argue that the glute-peeping public are now reaping the benefits of all that hard work.”

Christopher Meloni and his infamous rear end went viral in April, a week after his 60th birthday. Now that’s a sweet way to flip the calendar on a decade. He was filming for Law & Order: Organized Crime when a fan snapped a photo and posted it on a neighborhood Facebook group. You probably can figure out what followed. Someone gave the photo a Twitter boost. Peter Hess, a science writer with 2,400-plus followers, posted a Tweet that received 1,100 comments and more than 31,000 likes and still counting.

So, Is Law & Order: Organized Crime Star Christopher Meloni a “Zaddy”?

Nick Haramis, who is editor of Interview, then shared some photos of the site’s Christopher Meloni photo shoot. Yes, Meloni likes to pump iron for fun. And then Haramis explained, via Instagram, why the writer asked about Meloni’s butt.

“As the world’s biggest fan of every Dick Wolf show,” Haramis said. “I was unnaturally giddy when it was announced that Chris Meloni was returning as Det. Stabler in Law & Order: Organized Crime. Later, when it became clear that this was the summer of Meloni’s butt—thx (Andrew Nguyen) we asked the self-described zaddy to tell us about, well, his butt.”

Haramis described Christopher Meloni as a “zaddy.” That means a man, aka Daddy, with swagger and/or style. Meloni and his wife have been married for a quarter-century. They are the proud parents of a son and a daughter, Sophia and Dante.

Christopher Meloni enjoys all the attention his butt receives. He even playfully reacted to his glutes’ viral moment.

A Twitter follower asked him to explain why he had “so much cake.” And Meloni obliged with a reply. He posted “Sure- big birthday(60), big boy(200 lbs), big cake.” Another follower asked him why he was trending. He said: “The other Melonis are trending, not me.”

Christopher Meloni, throughout his career, has been known for his well-built body. He’s a former high school quarterback who worked as a construction worker, personal trainer and bouncer before he got into acting. Earlier this year, he shared his workout regimen with Men’s Journal.

He said he does “crossfit-type stuff,” to stabilize his muscles. He’ll kickoff a 60-minute workout with cardio and some exercises for his abs. Then, it’s on to his arms, shoulders and legs.

It all makes for a nice Christopher Meloni at 60.
