In between bouts of working out his absolutely shredded bod, “Law & Order: Organized Crime” star Chris Meloni is also filming season two of the hit crime drama.
After a 10-year hiatus from “Law & Order: SVU,” Meloni returned as Detective Elliot Stabler for his own spin-off series. Meloni played opposite Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson for 11 seasons before leaving the show due to contract issues.
When season one of the new spin-off premiered earlier this year, it ended up becoming the “12th most-watched TV show in America and the fifth most-watched scripted series,” according to Men’s Health. Now, the cast and crew are already back to filming the anticipated second season. “Law & Order: Organized Crime” is set to air on Thursday, Sept. 23 on NBC.
Which means we can expect a slew of behind-the-scenes pics from the cast and crew until then. Earlier today, Meloni posted a few photos on Instagram from what looks like a “Law & Order” night shoot. The first photo, taken from a distance, shows Meloni’s back as he talks to some nuns. But the second photo shows Meloni and the three nuns all turned around for a smiling photo, crosses and habits out in full force.
“My nite on the streets with #L&O:OC #hangingwiththesistahs #keepingitrighteous,” Meloni wrote.
Several fans appreciated his “righteous” joke, which is doubly ironic because Meloni actually grew up in the Catholic tradition. It’s unclear from the pic if the nuns are extras/actresses for the show or real nuns that stumbled upon Meloni in the middle of shooting. Guess we won’t find out until season two premieres.

Earlier, Meloni sat down with Men’s Health to talk about getting fit and getting back into “Law & Order.” He confessed to the magazine that in his early years on “SVU,” he suffered several bouts of anxiety about failing. The success overwhelmed him, he said. But over the years, he’s learned to prioritize other things than success and failure.
“This time around with the ‘Law & Order’ride, I’m not stressed by: Will it go well? Will it not go well? Not that I know how it’s going to go. Just that, eh, just ride. Just do, just be,” Meloni said.
“There are bigger things, more important things. I know how important this is to me, but I have a clearer vision of life,” he continued. “I know a little more about love, I know a little more about real pain, I know about joy, I know better management skills. As you go through life, you get a clearer understanding of things, of your holes, and of your gifts.”
