“Protect these two (three) at all costs,” read the nbclawandorder Instagram post. The photo was a clear nod to one of primetime’s newest popular couple: “Law & Order: Organized Crime’s” Ayanna Bell, (Danielle Moné Truitt) and her wife, Denise Bullock (Karen Dukes). It was revealed in the first season of the hit NBC series that the couple is expecting their first child. The Monday morning Insta post depicted a photo that clearly shows the love of an expectant family. As well as a call to make sure the women and their soon-to-be newborn baby are kept safe, despite some challenges they may have to face.
The newest “Law & Order” series may be on summer break after an intense first season, but that doesn’t mean the fans can’t continue to keep up with the characters. The “Law & Order” Instagram page helps those with a little “Organized Crime” withdrawal follow the stories while they eagerly await the upcoming fall premiere of season two.
When the new “Law & Order series premiered last spring, viewers were introduced to Truitt’s character. The tough-but-fair detective plays Elliot Stabler’s current partner. Stabler (Christopher Meloni) recently returned to the “Law & Order” universe in the newest addition to the franchise “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”
Bell And Stabler’s Adjustment To Partnership Was Not An Easy One
Sergeant Ayanna Bell is the “Organized Crime” squad supervisor in addition to her role as the former “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” detective’s partner.
In the series premiere, Bell and Stabler disagreed quite often. Early on in their partnership, the Sargeant expressed concerns over Stabler’s apparent penchant for threatening witnesses. The partners find themselves at odds quite often. Elliot Stabler even suggested that Bell may be profiling him as a detective. This accusation was not one that Bell was ready to hear and the NYPD officer quickly pointed out that Stabler had no idea what it means to truly be profiled.
Bell and her wife are expecting thier first child. While Ayanna may be accepting Stabler and his tendency to get rough with suspects, her wife, Denise, isn’t so sure. She is still leary of Ayanna’s new partner.
‘Law & Order’ Isn’t Always Easy
To further complicate things, Denise’s nephew suffered potentially life-long injuries during an arrest. The arrest was later proven to be a wrongful one. While Bell is horrified by the incident, she still feels loyalty to the department. Denise, however, has decided to sue the NYPD over the tragic incident. This left the couple in a tough spot. Denise left her wife with an ultimatum: quit the NYPD or lose her soon-to-be-growing family.
The hit “Law & Order: Organized Crime” series has been renewed for season two. The 24-episode season will premiere in the fall.
