Things on Law & Order: Organized Crime doesn’t always make sense to fans. The promotion of Jet to detective has some scratching their heads.
Over on the subreddit r/LawandOrder_OC, viewers got together to discuss the new detective. Jet is a young hacker and hasn’t been working with law enforcement very long. That has some fans saying they might just need to start suspending their disbelief a bit more.
User, u/Ducesteacup started things. They posted, “How did Jet just become a [detective]?”
The replies started soon after. One of the most upvoted replies was from u/miss_scarlet_letter. They posted, “There’s some creative licensing going on with Jet. The only reason I can see her being a detective is the rank gives her access to the IT/tech info she needs to do her job or something of that nature and it seems pretty ridiculous that she’s in the field if that’s the case.”
Another user seemed to have issues with the Law & Order: Organized Crime detective’s age. They related it to another Law & Order character from the past, Kat.
“Jet just seems SO young. You have to be 21 to be a cop, so unlikely she would be a detective this early. The actress who played Kat is 36. The actress who plays Jet is 23.”
While that is true, Jet has shown that she is valuable. While Elliot Stabler is undercover, Jet’s job on information gathering and as a hacker is very important. However, fans are just not sure that such a young and inexperienced character would get such a promotion.
Law & Order: Organized Crime deals with highly sensitive and dangerous cases. This season has fans interested in how long Stabler can stay undercover. With another detective in the NYPD, that can only help Stabler.
‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star Dylan McDermott Returning
This new season is going to bring the return of Dylan McDermott to Law & Order: Organized Crime. Fans have waited quite a long time to see Richard Wheatley opposite Det. Stabler again. It hasn’t been clear when the actor is going to return to his role on screen, however, there is a better idea.
As the first story arc of three comes to a close, fans can expect to see McDermott. The show is split into eight-episode long sections across three stories and 24 episodes total. Episode seven is set to air tonight. So, that means fans might get a glimpse of Wheatley as soon as tonight. He went to Rikers while he awaits his murder trial.
Chris Meloni and McDermott do so well together. The dynamic between Wheatley and Stabler is so fun and the excitement is always turned up when he is on the show. Fans are excited to see the gangster return. Although what lies ahead of the character is yet to be seen. Law & Order: Organized Crime is set to bring the action as the season continues.
