Hours before Law & Order: SVU commemorates its 500th episode, the actress tried to bring attention to OC.
She tweeted a photoshopped picture of a cake, decorated with the number 14 and “way to go guys.” Seiger captioned it “I made a cake for our milestone 14th episode tonight.”
OK, we know that Law & Order: Organized Crime doesn’t have the same gravitas as SVU. The spinoff started April 1, Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it still hasn’t reached a full season of episodes.
Meanwhile, SVU has been churning along since 1999. Bill Clinton was still president when SVU premiered, Sept. 20, 1999. Stabler and Benson investigated the murder of a cab driver, who also was castrated. Turns out, the cab driver had assumed another person’s identity.
Twenty-two years later, Stabler (Christopher Meloni) is back with Law & Order: Organized Crime. He took a 10-year break from the Dick Wolf franchise. Now, Meloni is the stand-alone star of OC with a fascinating supporting cast, which includes the 23-year-old Seiger.
On the show, Stabler recommended Ainsley Seiger’s Jet for a job on the Organized Crime task force. She’s a former hacker who is great at gathering intel and going undercover. Seiger was responsible for luring in fellow hacker Malachi Mintock, who is the key to busting up a couple of gangs.
Stabler Will Be Busy on Law & Order: Organized Crime. Will There Be Cake for No. 14?
Meloni has a mess on his hands in Thursday’s Law & Order: Organized Crime episode entitled Unforgivable. Here’s the plot summary from NBC: “Bell must provide protection when a gubernatorial candidate makes quick enemies of the K-O. Reggie is assigned a dangerous task. A figure from Eddie’s past makes life difficult for Stabler.”
Stabler’s undercover identity is Eddie Wagner. He’s trying to bust up an Albanian drug ring. And last week’s episode showed that the Albanians also are into sex trafficking. Eddie had wooed Flutura (Lolita Davidovitch) to get information on her husband, Albi (Vinnie Jones). Albi is one of the mob leaders. But since Albi is secretly gay, he leaves his wife alone. That left an opening for Stabler/Eddie, who is one of the few people who know Albi’s secret.
In last week’s episode, Eddie worked security at one of Flutura’s fancy parties. She was in cahoots with a rich businessman, who donated tons of money to progressive causes. However, he also was involved with sex trafficking. At his party, everyone was bidding on items in a silent auction. But some of the men were buying bracelets. The bracelets were worn by women, who were being bought for sex.
This is where Law & Order: Organized Crime crossed plots with SVU. The women were all from Albania. They were promised jobs and new lives in the United States. Instead, Flutura groomed them for her customers.
Police raided the party. Eddie helped Flutura escape. Then he raced off to save a waitress who had been trafficked. Flutura figured out that someone on the inside tipped off police.
Will Flutura figure out it’s Eddie, her lover? Stay tuned for a very special episode No. 14 of Law & Order: Organized Crime. Maybe there will be more than a photo-shopped cake.
