While Chris Meloni may not be fighting bad guys on a weekly basis like his “Law & Order” character, he is very much the dedicated family man, like his character.
According to a recent Pop Sugar article, the star and his wife, Sherman Williams have two children together. In the article, it is said that the “Law & Order: Organized Crime” star considers himself to be very much a hands on father.
“I’m very physical, very affectionate,” the outlet reported Meloni said in a recent interview. “I’m also very disciplined and focused on education.”

In a Sunday morning Instagram post, the star shared a hilarious belated Fathers Day gift from his daughter.
The Insta post read “The Belated Fathers Day gift from @sophiameloni #Bestgiftever. What was the gift you ask? Well, it was a tweet from a “Law and Order” watcher. The tweet stated they once saw the actor “failing to control two toddlers” at a 2007 brunch. In the Instagram post, Meloni poses with his daughter Sophia along with the framed print-out of the tweet.
“I saw Chris Meloni, one of the toughest tough guys on television, failing to control two toddlers at a brunch at Columbus Circle circa 2007,” the framed Twitter post read.
A closer look at the framed comment reveals the comment was a response to a tweet asking fans to recall their “best” celebrity sighting.
The father and daughter duo looks amused in the June 27 Instagram photo. “Law & Order’s” Meloni with one eyebrow raised while Sophia dons a sheepish grin.
Christopher Meloni and his wife, Sherman Williams, have been married for over 25 years. According to the Pop Sugar article, the couple has worked hard to be the best parents possible to their now teenage children.
“I think my kids would call me a little crazy,” Pop Sugar reported the actor joked in a recent USA Today interview. The star added that it’s important in the Meloni home that the kids have the freedom to express themselves.
Meloni And Stabler Are Not Too Different
Christopher Meloni’s “Law & Order” character, Elliot Stabler initially starred in the hit NBC series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
Additionally, Stabler and his wife, Kathy got married very young. The couple had four children together. Stabler unexpectedly left his post as a Special Victims Unit detective at the end of season 12. It was then said that he was spending much needed time with his family.
Christopher Meloni recently reprised his role as Elliot Stabler. The actor returned to the franchise in “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” the newest addition to the “Law & Order” universe.
