‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star Dylan McDermott Gets Fans Hyped for New Season With Epic Slo-Mo Clip

by Madison Miller

“Law & Order: Organized Crime” joined the “Law & Order” family with intensity and purpose back in April. It was one of the most popular rookie series of the TV season.

Now, show writers, the actors, and the fans are all looking forward to moving on with the series and a hopefully excellent second season this fall.

Dylan McDermott Shares Epic Video

Dylan McDermott played Richard Wheatley, the grippingly personal and evil villain, during season one. His character created the conflict that made the show so enticing and brought out a new side of returning “Law & Order” star, Christopher Meloni.

The good news is, fans are going to see more of McDermott in the second season of the show. The actor recently posted an alluring, yet creepy, slow-mo video on his Instagram captioned, “On-lock!” It features his character dressed in jail attire and with handcuffs on as he walks out of a jail cell.

The infamous Elliott Stabler and Richard Wheatley drama has only just begun. McDermott was not initially going to appear in the second season. “Law & Order: Organized Crime” follows longer storylines that are meant to last one season. However, fans were obsessed with the hardened mobster man.

Future Of ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’

According to Deadline, McDermott is going to appear in eight of the episodes of the upcoming season. Dick Wolf told reporters that this series is actually going to have three different eight-episode arcs instead of one. The series will have 24 total episodes then.

If you thought Richard Wheatley was terribly evil, there’s a lot more where that came from.

“The first third of the season is The Godfather. The second third is American Gangster. And the last third is Scarface. And these villains are going to be really bad guys that give [Stabler] a constant source of energy, outrage, belief in justice and a different way of pursuing criminals than we’ve had before,” Wolf said to the news outlet.

The season one finale gave “Law & Order: Organized Crime” fans plenty of reason to want more of Wheatley’s story. It all ended with Wheatley almost getting killed by a hit put out by his own son. He’s now in prison and is getting trialed for the murder of Stabler’s wife. As a powerful mobster, he still has his connections.

Wheatley used a cell phone in jail to orchestrate the murder of his ex-wife Angela. It’s a whirlwind of complicated and personal battles, which even “Law & Order: SVU” character Olivia Benson is mixed in with.

If part of the reason you’re hooked on “Law & Order: Organized Crime” has to do with Dylan McDermott, there’s plenty of other places to see him at work. One of which will be in the upcoming film “King Richard.” It stars Will Smith, Jon Bernthal, Tony Goldwyn, Saniyya Sidney, and Demi Singleton.

The movie is about tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams and their road to success. It focuses on the coaching they got from their father, Richard Williams.
