‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Star Tamara Taylor Speaks Out About Her Character’s Future on the Series

by Anna Dunn

Law & Order: Organized Crime actress Tamara Taylor has spoken about the future of her character. Taylor, who’s also known for her work on Bones and October Faction, played Angela Wheatley in season 1 of the hit series. Unfortunately for Wheatley, the writer’s room left her in a very precarious position in the season finale.

Character Angela Wheatley’s ex-husband Richard poisoned her twice. Richard, wonderfully played by Dylan Mcdermott, was Season 1’s big bad responsible for a host of terrible crimes, including the murder of detective Elliot Stabler’s wife.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Left Tamara Taylor’s Character Barely clinging to Life

Angela Wheatley was not only Richard’s ex-wife, but also the witness to many of his crimes. The final episode finds Wheatley barely clinging to life after her poisoning, with Elliot Stabler begging her to stay alive. Of course, Taylor couldn’t say whether or not Angela survived the attack. She said as much as she could regarding her character.

“Angela definitely had a rough day,” Taylor told The Wrap. “Being poisoned twice in one day is not ideal. I don’t know. Unfortunately, I don’t even know if I’m allowed to tell you her fate, hence the cliffhanger nature of the whole thing. I don’t know.

Angela also has been a sort of love interest for Elliot Stabler. This is to the annoyance of many fans because many have been rooting for Stabler and Law & Order: SVU lead Olivia Benson to get together for decades. Taylor, who ironically also played a love interest in a similar pickle in Bones, understands fans aren’t rooting against her.

“[Fans]seem to be very, very angry at Angela, many of them. But they’ve made a clear distinction that they’re not angry at me, the actor,” she said. “They’re just a little pissed with Angela because she’s getting in the way of a relationship that they’ve been rooting for for 22 years.”

Season Two Will Feature Three Main Villians

Law & Order: Organized Crime really is just getting started. Season two sounds more intricate, action-packed, and suspenseful than season one. Dick Wolf, who is the infamous executive producer who’s overseen the entire Law & Order franchise, spoke in detail about their plans for the second season.

While Law & Order: Organized Crime had a short first season due to covid-19, the second season will be full length, and writers and producers will take full advantage of that. Organized Crime season 2 will feature three separate eight episode arcs, each with their own main villain to face.

Each villain is also inspired by a classic organized crime-based film. “The first third of the season is The Godfather. The second third is American Gangster. And the last third is Scarface,” Wolf told TV Line.

Law & Order: Organized Crime will be back this fall alongside Law & Order: SVU and the brand new Law & Order: For the Defense.
