The 500th episode of Law & Order: SVU is a special occasion. Mariska Hargitay and others have been celebrating today. The Twitter account for the show shared a special deleted scene.

This 500th episode features the return of Danny Pino as Nick Amaro. The scene features Amaro catching up with Dominick Carisi, Jr. The two are going over what appears to be expert witness testimony from Amaro. Both of them bring up old times and things get a little, awkward toward the end.

It has been quite some time since Amaro left the SVU unit. Viewers are so excited to see him in tonight’s episode. In the deleted scene, Carisi asks if Amaro misses his old job. While he admits that he might have missed it at one point, he can’t say he does now. He claims that he has found his calling, so he doesn’t miss things at his old job.

Amaro does ask his old pal about another on Law & Order: SVU, though. He specifically asks about Amanda Rollins, asking how she is doing.

“It’s a lot. You know her, she’s resilient.” Carisi said to his old friend.

Right before he leaves, Amaro goes as far as to ask if Rollins is seeing anyone! That’s a bold question to ask, and things got a little awkward. Is this a sign that Amaro might be a recurring character this season? If so, are fans going to like his beard more than Elliot Stabler’s beard?

‘Law & Order: SVU’ 500th Episode Gets Big Celebration

Not only are there old characters returning for the 500th episode, but there’s also the continuation of Olivia Benson’s story. Mariska Hargitay celebrated her “500th birthday” today. She did it very extravagantly. There were two cakes and she had company in the video she posted earlier today.

In those two cakes, she had 500 candles. It looked like things were going to get messy for a second. Hargitay and company couldn’t blow out the candles and the fire was a bit bigger than what they were expecting. She celebrated her own camera work in the post, and they even sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Hargitay as the flames went hire in the background.

The scene was hilarious. Hargitay always seems to love her job on Law & Order: SVU. She wouldn’t still be doing it after 500 episodes if she didn’t. The new episode tonight is going to be a continuation of Benson and her story and fans will get to see others like Amaro that they haven’t seen in a while. If you are a long-time fan of the show, this is going to be a fun one to watch. 500 episodes and still going. That is quite a milestone.
