In 2009’s “Solitary,” Quigley played Betty Jean. The episode centered around Callum Donovan, who Stabler is convinced kidnapped his downstairs neighbor. It turns out to be a false claim. But Donovan reveals that he tried to run from the cops because he was terrified of going back to solitary confinement.

‘Law & Order: SVU’: The Five Hundredth Episode

In “The Five Hundredth Episode,” Bernadette Quigley plays Joyce West. The episode brings back Nick Amaro, who asks for Benson’s help in clearing a convict’s name. Along with Nick Amaro, Donald Cragen also returns to the precinct. Aidan Quinn comes back as someone crucial to Benson’s past; the episode focuses on Benson and her complicated, mysterious history.

Mariska Hargitay spoke with Live with Kelly and Ryan about the 500th episode, and revealed that she was actually too nervous to watch it. “I’ve been doing this show for so long and Olivia Benson is in me,” she said, “But I think the idea of the 500th episode was so much pressure on me. I was so nervous every day coming to work.”

Additionally, Aidan Quinn spoke with the New York Post of Hargitay’s dedication and devotion to her character. He said, “There were a couple of times where I thought she had cut the scene and then realized, ‘Oh god, no, that’s her line.’ She was so fresh and real. It literally took my breath away.”

Indeed, the episode promises to be intense and eye-opening for fans; it’ll us all a look into Olivia Benson’s cloudy and troubled past. It airs tonight, Thursday Oct. 21, at 9/8c on NBC.
