‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Ice T Mourns Unsettling Death of Friend in Latest Post: ‘Not in a Good Place Behind This’

Thursday, Aug. 19, marked a very sad day in the life of “Law & Order: SVU” star and beloved rapper Ice T. It was on that day that a dear friend of his was murdered.

According to PEOPLE, that friend is Joseph “Taheim” Bryan. Bryan, who was 50 years old at the time of his death, was a producer and writer. He worked with Ice-T on the star’s film “Equal Standard,” which was released in 2020.

Bryan was reportedly in his 2021 Mercedes-Benz in New York City when he was shot. The shooting reportedly took place around 11:18 p.m. on Thursday. Bryan was shot several times in his torso and his arm. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Also, as of the evening of Saturday, Aug. 21, the investigation into the shooting was ongoing. Also, no one has been arrested.

The 63-year-old Ice T shared his emotions via social media on Friday, Aug. 20. He shared a photo of him with Bryan, actor Tobias Truvillion, and rapper Havoc.

“MFs Killed my friend last night,” Ice T said in the caption. “I’m not in a good place behind this.”

The star also praised his late friend in his post.

“Taheim was a GOOD dude making Positive moves. He wrote and we made the film ‘Equal Standard’ together. He has a wife and beautiful daughter,” Ice-T also said.

The “Law & Order: SVU” star then added: “Dirty MFs followed him home and Murdered him. … I’m devastated….”

Ice T Shared Another Social Media Post About His Late Friend

This Instagram message was not the only social media post that Ice T shared about his late friend, Joseph “Taheim” Bryan. He also shared his emotions with Twitter posts on Friday and Saturday.

“People ask what makes you Cold… Murder makes you cold, losing friends and family to the streets makes you Cold.. You can’t tell me s*** about PTSD. How many of your friends have been Murdered? It changes you,” Ice-T also said.

On Saturday, Ice T also shared his thoughts on gun violence.

“ICE COLD Fact: When I was a youngster in the street. An OG named ‘Doobie’ RIP A little older than me, told me in a pool hall.. ‘Guns don’t Kill… A COLD Heart Kills’’The absolute TRUTH I think of him often,” the “Law & Order: SVU” actor said.

Later on Saturday, he shared a message encouraging his fans to make sure that they do not take life for granted.

“ICE Cold Fact: When you’re Enjoying life.. Enjoy it to the FULLEST. Happiness is rare.. Pain and bad days are guaranteed. Appreciate every second with your loved ones.. Life is Precious, Priceless and Fragile… Don’t ever take it for granted.. Love is Love,” Ice-T also said.
