On Friday (October 29th), Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay takes to Instagram to announce that she has received four awards for the long-running hit crime series.

The Law & Order: SVU castmate revealed on her social media account, “Honored to be nominated for not one, not two, but four @peopleschoice Awards! Wouldn’t have made it to #SVU500 without the love and support from our #EliteSquad of fans.”

Hargitay has been on Law & Order: SVU since the show premiered on September 20, 1999. The show now has 500 episodes and 23 seasons. It has received 91 award nominations and has won 33 awards. Hargitay was also the first regular cast member on any Law & Order series to win an Emmy Award. She won her Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Series in 2006.

Starring alongside Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU includes Ice-T, Richard Belzer, Dann Florek, and Michelle Hurd.

Mariska Hargitay Opens Up About ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Work-Life Balance

During a September 2019 interview with Parade, Mariska Hargitay opens up about how she juggles a work-life balance with her Law & Order: SVU schedule.

“Sometimes I feel like an octopus being pulled in so many directions. I have so many different joys. I’m acting, I’m producing, I’m directing episodes, and I’m having meetings for my foundation.”

The SVU star also said that despite the constant on-the-go lifestyle she has, she’s fulfilled. “The show is all-consuming, but it’s still so good. Because we’re deeply invested. We are all here, more than ever. And I appreciate it more than you know. Gratitude is my mantra.”

Hargitay also said that she goes into “wife-and-mom mode” the moment she comes home. “My kids change my cellular makeup energy. And I’m so grateful for that balance.”

Mariska Hargitay Discusses Her Family Dynamics

Hargitay spoke about getting married when she was 40. “Everyone was getting married in their 20s and 30s, but in my mind, I knew I had to figure out what I was doing in my life,” she explained. The actress then stated she didn’t want anyone to shape her and she knew that she had her own path to walk. “Not to say I wasn’t sad or impatient.”

The SVU actress then said that she and her husband, Peter Hermann, treasure family and have the same moral compass.

“But we’re also communicators. If you don’t talk bout something, then it festers. We work on staying connected that way. And we have an ability to take something sensitive and then 10 minutes later we’ll make it a joke. And be like, ‘Too soon?’”

While discussing other aspects of her life, the SVU cast member said that procrastination is her bad habit. “I tend to wait too long to make a decision. Because I can’t deal with it at that moment.”
