Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay just posted a sweet birthday message to co-star Stephanie March. Mariska Hargitay has played the lead of the show, detective Olivia Benson, for all 22 seasons. March played assistant district attorney Alexandra Cabot in the earlier seasons. She recently made a guest appearance in season 19.

The two have stayed in touch since their seasons together. And for March’s birthday, Hargitay posted an adorable throwback picture.

“Nothing but love for this one  #HappyBirthday  #Beautiful  #Brave #Bold #Beaming #Bewitching #BeLoved @marchstephanie I adore you lovely lady,” Hargitay wrote.

Fans echoed the sentiment in the comments.

“do i foresee a Cabot Benson Stabler reunion next season,” one fan teased. While It may be a bit far-fetched to say that Cabot will come back to the show for season 23, Stabler definitely will. Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Organized Crime had multiple crossover episodes last year, and production is planning on continuing with that trend this year.

“I love you both so much,” another fan said. And it’s nice to see Hargitay with a smile on her face, even in a throwback photo. The star recently suffered a pretty severe injury.

The ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star is Recovering From A Painful Leg Injury

Mariska Hargitay is taking the summer hiatus to recover from a pretty serious injury, but she’s trying to stay in good spirits. The actress first injured herself in the early summer months and then re-injured herself after falling at a screening of Black Widow.

Apparently, the actress had an after-party for the event and injured herself while trying to rush home in the rain.

She’s posted multiple photos of her gnarly looking cast during the recovery process and has gotten an outpouring of love and support. One of her most recent posts is a photo of her on crutches with a hilarious shirt that says, “It hurt. Thanks for asking.”

How this will impact the filming of the next season of Law & Order: SVU is hard to say, but fans are just thankful she’s recovering.

Hargitay Has An Ideal Ending for The Show

When asked about what the ideal ending for Law & Order: SVU would be, Hargitay’s answer was simple.

“With Olivia finding real peace and balance and love,” she said. Fans could certainly get behind that sentiment. Benson has been through a ton during her time on the show. But just because the show is one of the oldest dramas on TV, it’s not going anywhere any time soon.

There’s no indication that season 23 will be the last for Law & Order: SVU. And according to recent interviews, Hargitay loves where she’s at right now when it comes to doing the show.

Law & Order: SVU will return on Thursday, September 23rd at 8 pm with a two-hour-long premiere. The premiere will be immediately followed by the premiere of the second season of Law & Order: Organized Crime.
