Law & Order: SVU has officially wrapped up its record-breaking 22nd season. To celebrate, leading actress Mariska Hargitay posted a photo with her fellow cast members.

“9 pm approaches…so grateful to have had this crew together through the last year. Congratulations to our incredible team. I’m wrapping my arms around all of you,” the actress wrote.

The actress has broken the record for the longest amount of time someone has played a television character on a TV series and still expresses gratitude and thanks with every passing season.

Fans feel pretty thankful, too, telling the Olivia Benson actress just how much Law & Order: SVU has meant to them over the years.

“Thank you for keeping me entertained throughout the lockdown. If I’m having a good day, bad day, or stressful day, Olivia Benson and her crew are always there to cheer me up and make me feel understood,” one fan commented.

“Grateful for that crew especially for YOU. you are incredible and your work has helped and saved so many thank you for another great season M,” another fan said.

Hargitay Celebrated a Fan Who Used ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Tip to Fight Attacker

Hargitay’s work on the show often makes a real-life difference. Recently, Hargitay celebrated a young fan who fought off an attacker. The fan thanked Law & Order: SVU for the tips. Eleven-year-old Alyssa from Florida fought off a man who tried to kidnap her at a bus stop. Alyssa, however, had an idea.

She was playing with bright blue slime and rubbed the slime on the attackers’ arms. She fought him off, and the attacker was later found with the blue slime on him. Thanks to Law & Order: SVU, she knew that the slime would serve as evidence when tracking down and identifying her attacker.

Hargitay was touched by the story, and took to her instagram to send a message to the young survivor.

“Alyssa, first and most important, I am so relieved and grateful to know that you are safe,” she wrote. “And I am so honored to be part of your incredible story. You are one BRAVE, Strong, and Smart young woman. I think the SVU squad might have to add slime to their crimefighting gear!” Take good care of yourself and each other,” She wrote.

Hargitay later met up with Alyssa and praised her in person. It’s not even the first time Hargitay has reached out to survivors and fans. The actress actively speaks out for domestic abuse and assault survivors. Her time on the show has provided her a wider platform to do so.

Hargitay’s work on SVU has been a two-decades-long job, and they aren’t stopping. Season 23 of Law & Order: SVU will come out next Fall.
