‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Mariska Hargitay Receives Thoughtful Gift from Co-Star After Leg Injury

by Quentin Blount

Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay took to Instagram on Saturday afternoon to give a shout-out to one of her co-stars on the show.

It was only a couple of days ago that Hargitay had was in the hospital after suffering a few serious leg injuries. The actress informed her fans in a previous post that she has a broken knee, a hairline fracture in her ankle, and a torn ligament. However, she says that her injuries will not require her to have surgery and that the injuries were not show-related.

Fans know Hargitay, of course, for her breakthrough role as Olivia Benson on the hit NBC drama series Law & Order: SVU (Special Victims Unit). She has been starring in that role since 1999 and was received several accolades. Those include a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

But on Saturday, Hargitay showed fans one of the most recent gifts that she has received since her injuries. The star actress thanked one of her former co-stars on the show, Joanne Baron, for the thoughtful gift.

“Morning and happy spring!” Hargitay wrote alongside her photo. “I’m having one thanks to my sweet sweet friend @joanne_baron_ thank you for this bursting bouquet of beauty.”

While Hargitay is no doubt the star of Law & Order: SVU, Baron has made appearances in several of the show’s episodes herself.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ Star Had Fans Concerned

Fans of Law & Order: SVU have definitely been concerned for Mariska Hargitay after hearing news of her injuries. But it would seem that the star actress is just as strong as her character on the show. She has been telling fans “not to worry about her” and that she “is fine.”

Meanwhile, there is no need for fans to worry about whether or not her injuries will delay the rest of the season. The cast and crew have already wrapped up filming for season 22 of Law & Order: SVU. However, with that said, filming for season 23 was on schedule to begin this summer. We will have to wait and see if that date gets pushed back due to the actress’s extensive injuries. Hopefully, Mariska Hargitay will be back to her old self in no time!

You can catch Mariska Hargitay and the rest of the Law & Order: SVU cast in action on Thursday nights on NBC at 9 p.m. ET. Law & Order: Organized Crime follows right after at 10.
