They definitely give us best-friend goals. And, “Law and Order: SVU” actress Mariska Hargitay’s message to her best pal on Instagram doesn’t get any sweeter.

On Sunday afternoon, the “Law and Order” star took to Instagram to wish her closest pal, Debra Messing a very happy birthday. It’s a message that makes gal-pals across the globe swoon and reset all of their bestie goals to become just like this adorable pair.

“Happy happy birthday sweet Deb,” the “Law and Order: SVU,” star wrote to her bestie on the August 15 post.

“Wishing you the most beautiful, joyful and Peaceful year filled with so much love,” Hargitay continued in the touching message. “Thank you for your passion and determination to make this world a kinder, more compassionate, tolerant and just all around better place.”

The close friends began connecting years ago around 2006. Over the years, the two have grown closer. Now, their sons are even beginning to hang out as much as their mothers do.

Even Thier Boys Are Best Friends

In fact, Mariska’s son, five-year-old August, and Debra Messing’s boy Roman, age seven were spotted hanging out in Disneyland last winter. The “Law and Order” star has even said that the two boys are almost as close as brothers are.

Of course, what do you do when you and your best friend are both television actors? You find a way to star in a television episode together, of course!

In 2011, Messing stepped into her bestie’s “Law and Order: SVU” universe to guest star in an episode entitled “Pursuit.”

Best Friends Star in ‘Law and Order: SVU’ Episode

In the season twelve “Law and Order: SVU” episode, Messing portrays Alicia Harding. An on-air broadcaster for the television series “Neighborhood Predator,” Messing’s “Law and Order” character begins to receive death threats. These incidents reignite Alicia Harding’s longtime pursuit to find the man who abducted and killed her thirteen-year-old sister years earlier.

As the threats become more and more threatening against the television host, Mariska Hargitay’s “Law & Order: SVU” character, Detective Olivia Benson tries to convince her to enter protective custody while they work to solve the case. However, convinced that the stalker is in fact her sister’s killer, Alicia decides to bait the killer out into the open by presenting evidence on her television show.

“We found love, seriously about two years ago,” Hargitay said of her and Messing’s friendship not long after the filming of Messing’s “Law and Order: SVU” guest spot. “We had this mad girl crush on each other, became friends and our sons became good friends.”

Debra Messing found fame in the 1990s portraying Grace Adler in the hit NBC sitcom “Will and Grace.” The series had its first run from 1998 until 2006. The series was later revived to the delight of “Will and Grace” fans in 2017. These new episodes lasted through 2020.
