LeAnn Rimes Celebrates ‘Coyote Ugly’ 20th Anniversary, Shares Remix of Hit Song

LeAnn Rimes is celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Coyote Ugly” by dropping remixes of the four songs included on the movie’s soundtrack.

On Friday, Rimes posted the remix to “Right Kind of Wrong” on her Instagram page.

Working with producer Dave Aude, Rimes remixed four songs, including “But Do I Love You,” “Please Remember Me” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight.”

“The music really has seemed to stick with people for all this time and they passed it down to their daughters,” Rimes told “ET.” “There’s just something about it. It’s nice to be able to take the four songs that I did for the film and really re-release this as a MegaMix, as a dance mix. It has even more attitude than it did the first time around.”

Coyote Ugly was released in August of 2000. Piper Perabo starred as Violet, an aspiring songwriter who is hired to work at a New York saloon called Coyote Ugly. By the end of the movie, Violet landed the record deal, selling her song to Rimes.

Rimes Talks Being 17 on Coyote Ugly

Rimes made a brief appearance at the end of the movie, dancing on the bar with the other bartenders. She was 17.

“It was like a kid playing dress up to be honest,” Rimes told ET. “I was so young, so there was some acting there for sure. I was looking around at other women and emulating what they were doing ’cause I was still growing into myself. I was so, so little. I look at that video and I’m like, ‘Man, I know.’ You know how you know what you’re feeling at the time? Then at the same time you’re like, ‘Man, I was faking that really well.’”

The movie didn’t fare well with critics, but its box office grossed more than $113 million worldwide.
