LeBron James Wears MAGA-Like Hat, but It Reads Something Different

LeBron James turned heads when he wore a red MAGA-inspired hat as he arrived to NBA playoff game between the Lakers and Trail Blazers on Tuesday. While the first two words read the same as President Trump’s famous slogan, the hat has white stitching crossing out the expected “Great Again.” Under the crossed out slogan, the words “Arrest the cops of Breonna Taylor” are stitched. The hat reads : “Make America Arrest The Cops Who Killed Breonna Taylor”

Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old nursing student, was murdered on March 13 after three cops entered her home with a no-knock warrant. The Louisville police officers were searching for narcotics, but no drugs were found in the residence.

James’ Instagram post on Wednesday reiterated his support, with the caption, “By Any Means‼️ Lets Get It 👑 #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor❤️✊🏾

Comments On Breonna Taylor in Post Game Pressers

James donned the hat for his post-game presser, in which he explained his beliefs and decision to wear the cap. “There have been no arrests. There’s been no justice — not only for her but for her family. We want to continue to shed light on that situation,” he told reporters over Zoom.

This isn’t the first time James has spoken about Breonna Taylor in a press-conference this summer.

In July, he made it clear that the NBA had the family’s back in a presser following a Lakers-Mavericks scrimmage. James said, “And us as the NBA, and us as the players, and me as one of the leaders of this league, I want her family to know and I want the state of Kentucky to know that we feel for it and we want justice. That’s what it’s all about. What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong. And this is a wrong situation that’s going on in my eyes.”

James’ Laker’s teammate, Danny Green, also entered the arena wearing the hat to demand justice and commented on Breonna Taylor post-game. He told reporters, “First and foremost, we can’t forget the big picture why we’re here, justice for those who died, Breonna Taylor especially”
