The massively popular artist who took 2019 by storm headed to his Twitter to make the announcement. His illustrated story (starring himself, of course) is being released via Random House Kids and it’s releasing on January 5, 2021.
“C is for Country” follows Lil Nas X and his pony Panini as they head out on a joyous journey through the alphabet from sunup to sundown.” It aimed toward children aged 3 to 7, and will include fun surprises for readers of all ages. Random House Kids calls it “a celebration of song and the power inside us all.”
Lil Nas X is also starting to work on new music
Lil Nas X first shot to the top of the Billboard 200 charts in 2019 with “Old Town Road.” He collaborated with Billy Ray Cyrus for the track, which spent 19 weeks at No. 1 and amassed several honors and awards. He released his first EP “7” soon after, but has yet to release an additional series of tunes just yet.
That may end up changing soon, as Lil Nas X appeared to tease on Twitter that he might end up releasing some new music. On September 10, he joked that he would “start back releasing music soon,” as the “Old Town Road” music was “running out.”
Of course, Lil Nas X could just be making light of his quiet period without putting out new songs. But with a new book on the horizon, it’s hopefully time for him to head back into the recording studio. With his previous EP spawning several singles, it feels like a good time to have new songs to sing along to.
Since many of us have been spending time in quarantine, it’s likely the singer has been working on some new music to bust out by the time we might be able to leave our homes again.
