Lisa Marie Presley made her career in the music industry, but did her father, the legendary King of Rock-N-roll, ever sing about his daughter?

Tragically, Lisa Marie Presley was only nine-years-old when her father died, and as a result, they never had a chance to work together.

However, in her professional career, Presley made sure to pay tribute to her father through her music.

Since she started singing, her father has served as a massive inspiration for Lisa Marie, with her singing versions of his classics such as “In the Ghetto,” “Don’t Cry Daddy,” “I Love You Because,” and “When No One Stands Alone.”

Lisa Marie Presley Finally Able to Release Duet With Father

Surprisingly, she was able to release a duet with her father, thanks to today’s technology.

The recording engineers laid Elvis’ vocals on top of Lisa Marie’s, which resulted in a heartwarming duet.

Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine Kelly, Lisa Marie said, “I just felt really emotional. It’s never pleasant to sing and cry.”

“I had to keep my composure, but I felt very connected to him and to the song.”

“I wouldn’t say I talk to [him], I just remember everything and all the… I can just sort of pull out of the files whatever memory I have and stuff like that and occasionally ask for help… which was the case with this record. I felt like a hand came down to me. It felt like that a little bit.”

While Elvis had a significant impact on his daughter’s work, it makes you wonder if Lisa Marie inspired Elvis’ music.

While other songwriters penned Elvis’ songs, it is unlikely Lisa Marie was the inspiration for any lyrics. However, Elvis did dedicate several songs to Lisa Marie when he went toured all over the USA.

Lisa Marie was born nine months after Elvis, and Priscilla Presley got married, at which point Elvis did not release new studio albums. His last album was How Great Thou Art, his ninth album and a gospel-themed album before her birth.

In 1968 Elvis released no music except for soundtrack albums but released new music the following year.

Elvis’ first album after his hiatus was titled From Elvis in Memphis. As a result of the album’s success, he began touring again.
