Luke Combs Is Teaming up With Ford to Donate $25,000 in Guitars for Vets With PTSD

Luke Combs is joining forces with Ford in order to help U.S. military veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. The “Beer Never Broke My Heart” singer hopes to assist the vets through music.

Through the Guitars 4 Vets organization, the 2019 CMA Male Vocalist winner is tag-teaming a donation of $25,000 worth of guitars to the vets. The organization promotes the use of music as a means of therapy for PTSD, Fox News reports.

The custom guitars feature camouflage pick guards as well as Ford logos.

Prior to Wednesday night’s 2020 ACM Awards, Combs plans to appear in a TV spot that will feature him meeting with one of the recipients. Furthermore, the country music star plans to show the recipient a few guitar licks.

The donation comes as part of Ford’s Proud to Honor program. Most recently, the program released a new line of military-inspired merchandise with the goal of raising money for Blue Star Families and DAV charities.

Ford marketing executive Mark LaNeve released a statement on the collaboration. “Ford has supported the military and veterans for nearly a century, and Luke Combs has paid tribute to the brave men and women of our armed services,” the statement reads.

On Wednesday night, Combs plans to take the stage alongside fellow Entertainer of the Year nominees including Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, and Carrie Underwood.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s show moved from its original April date to September 16. Also, this year’s ceremony broadcasts from three iconic music venues in Nashville including the Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Café, and the Grand Ole Opry.

Each Entertainer of the Year nominee will perform twice during the show. Combs reportedly plans to sing “Better Together” from The Bluebird Café then he teams up with Jon Pardi for “Beer Can’t Fix” at the Ryman.
