Mark and Donnie Wahlberg’s mother, Alma, has died.
Alma Wahlberg, mother to actors Donnie and Mark Wahlberg, and seven other children has died. In addition to being loved by her nine children, Alma also stole the hearts of countless viewers when she was featured in the A&E series Wahlburgers about Paul Wahlberg and his quest to open a burger joint. The chain eventually became successful across New England.
According to her A&E bio “Alma is the matriarch of the Wahlberg family. Alma worked as a bank clerk and nurse’s aide to make ends meet while raising her children in tight quarters on the Dorchester streets where she grew up.” During the show, Alma worked as a greeter and hostess at her son’s restaurants “where she shares her infectious laugh and sense of humor with everyone who comes to dine.”
Mark and Donnie Wahlberg Post Moving Tributes In Honor Of Their Mother
Actor Donnie Wahlberg posted a tribute to his mom on Twitter. Along with a photo of himself with his mama, he wrote, “She was always an angel. Now she has her wings. Rest peacefully Alma. As Always, your Baby Donnie.”
Donnie also shared a tribute video of his mother on Instagram. Along with the video he wrote, “I’m so blessed to have been brought into this world by, raised by, taught by and set on my life’s path by, such an amazing woman…I’ve often said, if you like anything about me, I got it from Alma. I say that because it’s true.”
Actor and singer Mark Wahlberg also posted in honor of his mother. Along with a beautiful photo of his mother Alma, he wrote, “My angel. Rest in peace.”
Alma is survived by Mark and Donnie Wahlberg and their siblings Paul, Robert, Jim, Arthur, Tracey, Michelle and Debbie.
