With his highly anticipated action-packed film Uncharted set to hit theaters in February 2022, Tom Holland is now sharing details about his time on the upcoming movie’s set. He even admits he was intimidated by his co-star Mark Wahlberg for his dedication to getting shredded.

While chatting with GQ, the Uncharted star stated, “I saw [Mark Wahlberg] walk onto set in his costume and I was like, ‘F—, he is twice my side.’ After the lockdown, we had five months off. And I just ate and trained and ate trained.”

Holland then said when he got back on set, the first thing that his Uncharted co-star was, “Wow, somebody has been training.”

According to its IMDb, Uncharted is the prequel to the famous video games. Holland stars as a younger Drake. The film follows him as he came to meet and befriend Wahlberg’s character Sully. Along with Holland Wahlberg, those starring in Uncharted are Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, Antonio Banderas, Patricia Meeden, and Sarah Petrick. The movie is set to hit theaters on February 18, 2022.

Tom Holland Admits that ‘Uncharted’ Absolutely Broke Him

While continuing to chat with GQ, Tom Holland spoke about how his body is adapting to getting older and doing more action-packed films. “I was going to the gm in the morning, ‘Oh, my God, I’ve must have torn something in my leg.’ And the guys were like, ‘You haven’t. You’re just tired and you’re getting older.”

Holland then stated he never realized how lucky he is that Spider-Man wears a mask. “Because when he’s bouncing around and flying from buildings, that’s all CG. In Uncharted, it’s just me in a henley and cargo pants. That film absolutely broke me.”

The Uncharted star then said he has done everything he can to make himself more physically noticeable. “I’d do this thing on red carpets where I would stand closer to the photographers than the people behind me [to look taller]. I cannot do anything about my height. I can put on more muscle.”

While also discussing his dedication, Holland stated, “One of my biggest faults is that I’m an impossible people pleaser. I don’t like the idea of people not liking me. So I will do whatever I can do to make that not the case.”

In regards to any acting tips he has received through the years, the Uncharted actor revealed one piece of advice he was given as a kid that was really helpful for me. “If you think about the actual physical feeling of being nervous, it’s the same physical feeling as being excited. So, I’ve just convinced myself all my life that when I’m nervous, I’m really excited.”
