‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Star Jeremy Renner Revealed He told Marvel to ‘Recast’ Hawkeye or Give Him More Time With His Daughter
During a recent interview with Men’s Health, the Mayor of Kingstown star Jeremy Renner spoke about his busy acting career schedules and how he recently told Marvel to recast Hawkeye if the studio didn’t give him more time with his daughter, Ava.
Renner stated he was flying from London to LA each weekend to see his daughter for a year and a half. It was time to negotiate with Marvel. “It taught me how to have the nuts to say, ‘Everyone f— off. It’s time for my daughter.’”
When Renner was warned that Marvel may end up firing him for standing up for himself. The Mayor of Kingstown star still challenged the studio.
“I said, ‘Fine, recast me. I’m going to be here with my daughter.’ It was pretty gnarly.”
The Mayor of Kingstown star stated that he insists on visiting his daughter or having her visit every weekend for his projects. If the producers reject his conditions, he passes on the opportunity.
“Acting and everything else goes out the window. Until my daughter says, ‘I want to hang out with my friends and I don’t want to be around you so much, daddy.’”
Renner shares custody of his daughter with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco. The couple divorced in 2014 and had a war over custody and child support. Pacheco accused Renner of having ongoing substance abuse in one of her court filings. When asked about the allegations, Renner stated he doesn’t respond publicly or privately to nonsense.
Renner went on to add, “It only empowers it… if you respond to it, you give it gas. I don’t fuel s— fires. I just don’t do it and I refuse to.”
