Could this be Meghan McCain’s way of saying she’s glad she left when she did? Was a Tweet by the former The View host designed to throw a little shade at two of the popular daytime talk show hosts? Or, was the entire situation absolutely unrelated?

On Friday, September 24, news that two of McCain’s former The View cohosts were escorted off the set swept the media. The reason? The hosts had just tested positive for COVID-19; minutes before they were scheduled to interview Vice President Kamala Harris in person, on The View.

A few hours after the news of the COVID-19 positive test results was released, Meghan McCain appeared to react to the news. Seemingly giving her two cents on the situation…via her Twitter page.

Trust Your Instincts

The Friday afternoon tweet, which has since been deleted featured the caption, “Trust your instincts, kids.”

The post featured a GIF of Clint Eastwood’s iconic 1966 The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly character, Blondie. The GIF included the legendary western character giving us the trademark hat-tip he for which he is so well-known.

Some fans who noticed this Friday afternoon Twitter post were quick to make the connection between the shocking news from The View and the former host’s latest social media comment.

In fact, a few seemed to think this was McCain’s way of letting her audience know that her decision to leave the hit daytime talk show after four years as cohost was one of the best she has made.

“I think I would have said, ‘so happy my friends from the view are vaccinated and well’, but that’s just me,” one responder noted on Meghan McCain’s Twitter post.

‘The View’s’ Shocking News

The shocking events happened Friday morning. Just a The View hosts were preparing to welcome United States Vice President Kamala Harris onto the popular talk show’s stage.

The View hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were escorted off the set when they reportedly tested positive for the COVID-19 virus during a pre-show check. Just before the interview was set to begin.

Longtime View host Joy Behar delivered the news of the “breakthrough” cases of COVID-19; while she and host Sara Haines continued with the interview remotely.

Harris tuned in from another in the building; as a precaution after the news of the COVID-19 positive tests were revealed.

According to reports, the positive COVID-19 tests were “completely unexpected.”

And “no one had time to think about how this would make the show look.”

Sources report The View’s showrunners simply sprang into action as soon as they got the news.

“No one could believe this was playing out live in front of the cameras,” the source adds.

“No one had time to think about how this could make the show look,” the statement continues. “The thought was we have to take action right away and make sure everyone is safe.”

According to reports, both Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were administered follow-up COVID-19 rapid tests; immediately after being escorted from The View’s set Friday morning. The reports note that these tests both came back negative.
