Kicking off a new week with some smiles, former The View co-host Meghan McCain took to her Instagram with an adorable snapshot of her almost one-year-old baby girl, Liberty.
“♥️🗽 🔔 ~ my intensely curious Liberty Bell,” Meghan McCain wrote in the caption. The picture is of Liberty trying to get into a bathroom cabinet.
The sweet pic of Liberty comes just days after Meghan McCain opened up to The Daily Mail about her departure from ABC’s The View. She stated that she felt like she was really happy to leave the daytime talk show on her own terms because some people were previously fired.
Although she was happy to leave The View, Meghan McCain noted that the talk show gave her so much and doesn’t feel anything negative about it. “I really want to do things that I think are meaning and impactful and make me happy.”
Meghan McCain now has a new gig at The Daily Mail as a columnist. She stated during her interview that she started her career as a columnist and she is thrilled at the chance to go back to her roots once again. She is also excited to be working in a completely uncensored, free-thinking space as well. Her first column will start this week through the media outlet.
Meghan McCain Opens Up About Her Mental Health Following the Death of Her Father & the Pandemic
Also during her interview with The Daily Mail, Meghan McCain recalled the struggles she faced mentally following the death of her father, Arizona Senator John McCain, and the pandemic.
“I left New York during the pandemic. And I had sort of an existential crisis when my dad died,” Meghan McCain explained. She said she was really scared and just really started thinking about life. And what she actually wanted. “What I said on The View [when I announced my exit from the show] was true.”
Meghan McCain said she didn’t feel like moving back to New York was the right decision for her. “And it was a really hard decision. But I feel really good about it now. And I don’t miss it at all.”
McCain then stated she likes change and trying new things. “I’m also working on a lot of other projects, but especially at the Daily Mail. And being completely uncensored and working for a company that really values true free speech.”
McCain is also producing a new Hallmark film Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristin Carlson Story. The film will star Heather Locklear. It is based on the Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff book series that Carlson co-authored with her late husband, Dr. Richard Carlson.
