by Evan Reier

Michael Strahan welcomed Chrissy Teigen and John Legend to Good Morning America recently to talk about one of their greatest hardships of 2020.

The dynamic couple is known for being upfront about their feelings and marriage. But when a couple suffers the loss of a child, closure and grief are all that can be expected. After some time since Teigen and Legend lost their unborn son in September, the couple is now speaking out publicly on the matter.

“I definitely give myself permission to have complete and utter grief,” Teigen said in the interview. “Every day is so different. So, when people ask me how I’m doing I always say, ‘I’m OK, today.'”

Teigen shared the initial news of her son’s death over Instagram, but has been fairly quiet on social media since.

Further in the interview, the model explained that her and Legend are working with the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“Wanting the best for your children and wanting to keep families together, for us, is insanely important,” Teigen said. “… What they’re doing is so incredible and so beautiful, and … I am so proud to support it.”

John Legend Speaks to Michael Strahan on ‘Sharing Grief’

In one part of the interview, the couple discusses Teigen’s initial post with Strahan. The popular artist explained that while social media may have its issues, the ability to share the pain and real experiences with people is something that struck the couple.

“I didn’t know that we could experience this grief and also share it,” Legend said. “But when we did it really meant so much to so many people. And it was such a powerful experience for me to learn that, and I’m just grateful that my wife was courageous enough to do it.”
