Miley Cyrus and Lil Nas X will be teaming up to perform for an upcoming holiday special.

They will be starring in “Holiday Plays,” which is Amazon Music’s first-ever attempt at a live holiday special. It will premiere tonight, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. ET.

Cyrus’ album “Plastic Hearts” came out Nov. 27 on all platforms.

For Cyrus, the album has been her completely remolding herself. From a country artist to a Disney Channel singer to an eccentric pop singer to a now glam-rock style. She’s done it all. But what is it that she wants to be doing?

In this album, she has picked up the knack for being able to tell a vivid story. Whether it’s her house burning down in 2018 or one of her late-night parties, she creates long-form stories and imagery.

First Lil Nas X, who collaborated with Miley’s dad Billy Ray Cyrus for the hit song “Old Town Road,” will perform his new single “Holiday.”

Cyrus Takes Us Home

Cyrus’ set will include, “Prisoner,” “Midnight Sky,” “Plastic Hearts,” and Wham!’s “Last Christmas.”

The interesting part, however, is that Cyrus is taking us home for this performance. This meaning, she will be performing in a rendition of her old childhood bedroom. According to Variety, the set will be “littered with photos of herself in an over-the-top maximalist style. Miley will perform surrounded by pieces of her own memorabilia spanning the past decade, within a replica of her own childhood bedroom.”

Since her emergence into the spotlight almost 20 years ago, Cyrus seemingly shared nearly every part of her life with the people constantly looking in and analyzing it. The set will have different reference points of her life from being Hannah Montana then to the girl on the wrecking ball to everything in-between.

“We all have a history and I’ve had an incredibly unique life: I’ve been on magazines and posters since I was a kid, and people have seen the tough, beautiful, hard, and glamorous points of it all. This is me, and this performance is about my evolution – embracing all versions of it,” Cyrus said.

Lil Nas X will be hosting the entire series as a different Holiday alter-ego every night. The series will go on until Dec. 15, some set artists are Kiana Ledé and Foo Fighters.

The show can be viewed through the Amazon Music app, the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, and on or Prime Video.
