Morgan Wallen Plans to ‘Not Leave The Hotel’ to Stay Safe During SNL Second Chance

Morgan Wallen is being granted an early Christmas gift by receiving a second chance to perform on Saturday Night Live.

Wallen was originally scheduled to perform on SNL in October. However, the revocation of his appearance following the viral videos showing Morgan recklessly ignoring COVID-19 safety protocols.

However, Saturday Night Live invited Morgan Wallen back to the show, airing on Dec. 5. Jason Batemen, a famous actor and comedian, will be hosting the episode, ensuring plenty of laughs.

It’s obvious Wallen, 27, is enthusiastic and grateful to have another opportunity as he takes to the SNL stage, giving his debut performance.

He says he’ll do things differently this time, and has been spotted in New York City continuously wearing a mask.

TMZ asked Wallen how he’s planning to stay COVID safe ahead of his big SNL performance.

“I’m not leaving this damn hotel,” Wallen says in a video obtained by TMZ.

The Consequences of COVID-19 Carelessness

Morgan felt the consequences of his actions upon losing his chance to make his debut appearance on SNL due to his poor choices. Jack White replaced Wallen as the musical guest on the episode.

Just seven days prior to his Oct. 10 scheduled performance, the viral videos show Wallen’s careless behavior while drinking and interacting with fans in several crowded locations. Reports by many social media sites and news outlets condemn his lack of care.

The videos display many fans in an Alabama bar with Wallen not following safety precautions either. In fact, one Tik Tok video shows Wallen kissing a young woman.

“I’m not positive for COVID, but my actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted and have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams,” Wallen said in a lengthy Instagram video at the time. “I respect the show’s decision because I know that I put them in jeopardy. I take ownership of this. I’d like to apologize to SNL, to my fans, to my team, for bringing me these opportunities, and I let ’em down.”

Now, Wallen will be the official musical guest on the upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, airing tonight at 11 p.m./ 10 p.m. CT on NBC.
