Carrie Underwood doesn’t stop winning. It’s a testament to the long-time country’s star’s consistent success, but also to her devout fanbase.
In the latest edition of the CMT Awards, Underwood took home two awards: Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year. The latter is considered to be the top prize at the award ceremony. With this year’s win, Underwood now has 5 total Video of the Year awards.
“Drinking Alone’s” two wins this year also propels Underwood to a total of 22 CMT Awards victories. Further, this is the most in the ceremony’s history.
After some initial thanks and shout-outs upon receiving the award Wednesday night, Underwood also had an additional message for the fans that voted for her.
“Hey everybody, Carrie here,” Underwood starts. “CMT Awards were tonight, and you guys did it again. Thank you so much. Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year. You guys are absolutely amazing and I feel beyond loved and please know I’m giving it right back to you guys. Thank you so much. I appreciate it more than you guys could ever know. Thank you, love you guys, and I will see you soon.”
It’s safe to say that the connection between Underwood and her fans is very, very real.
Underwood Responds After Winning Video of the Year
Similar to her post-show video, Underwood offered several thanks upon winning the Video of the Year award. The singer also talked about the outpouring of support for her and the country music industry on the night.
“Thank you so much,” Underwood said. “This one is really all about you guys. Especially because we haven’t been together, but I just feel so loved this evening.”
“So thank you guys so much. Of course, all the winners and nominees tonight, this is something that is so fun for us to be able to visually bring ourselves to life, so thank you for all of the support and all of the fans who have been voting for everybody. We all feel loved tonight. Thank you so much.”
