Even we were impressed with Luke Combs and his shotgun abilities, as he downs a beer in less than two seconds on stage while performing at the CMT Awards.
Luke Combs and Brooks & Dunn killed it with their performance of ‘1, 2 Many’ at the CMT Music Awards last night. Near the end of the song, Kix Brooks hands Combs a beer while saying, “You’ve got some catching up to do, Luke. I’ve got one for you!”
Combs chugs down the brew in seconds flat and throws it into the metaphorical crowd.
Brooks responds with, “Oh, yeah! Let’s do it, Ronnie,” and the duet continues on as if nothing happened.
Apparently, we weren’t the only ones surprised by the beer break. Luke Combs took to Twitter to express his shock.
“I shotgunned a beer last night on national TV with @BrooksAndDunn. If you would have told me that 5 years ago I would have punched you for lying to me.”
The tweet from this morning at 7 a.m. has garnered lots of attention with over 800 retweets, 108 quote tweets, and 18,400 likes.
Fans commented to the singer about his top-notch beer-drinking form.
All we are saying is that Luke Combs looks like a man that can tip ’em back and with ease. You won’t see us betting against the man anytime soon.
CMT Winners
Last night at the CMTs, Combs was nominated for Video of the Year for “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” and for Male Video of the Year for “Even Though I’m Leaving.” As a sign of the times, he was also up for Quarantine Video of the Year for “Six Feet Apart.” However, he walked away with only the empty beer can as Carrie Underwood took the win for Video of the Year, Luke Bryan stole the Male Video of the Year award, and Granger Smith took the cake (or mask) for Quarantine Video of the Year.
