55th CMA Awards to Return to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena With Live Audience on November 10

by Jonathan Howard

We are just over a month away from the Country Music Association Awards. The CMA Awards will be hosted in Nashville. Bridgestone Arena plays host this year and it will all air at 8 PM EST on November 10th.

After a year without a crowd, a limited number of tickets will go on sale this year. Ticketmaster is where you can find those starting Monday, November 1st. Those that buy a ticket must also be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to get in and will be expected to wear masks.

The Association put out a statement via CEO Sarah Trahern.

“We are so excited to return to Bridgestone Arena for this year’s CMA Awards ceremony. We have a truly fantastic show in the works that we will share more about in the coming weeks. As we plan our return, it goes without saying that the health and safety of our guests and crew is our top priority. Due to TV production protocols and venue and local rules, we will require all ticketed audience members to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and wear masks unless actively eating or drinking. Both the house and backstage will comply with all applicable local health and safety regulations, as well as requirements from the television unions. We look forward to bringing our fans a night to remember.”

This is going to be a fun night. This should be a return to normalcy for the show, for the most part. There is going to be a hotly contested night between Eric Church and Chris Stapleton. They both lead the nominations totals with five apiece. All five nominations are in the same categories.

CMA Awards Promise To Be a Star Studded Night

While last year was a bit underwhelming, this should be a great CMA Awards night. With this being the 55th edition of the awards, it makes sense that it would be a big night. Not only are Church and Stapleton competing across five nominations, but there is also a great group of nominees elsewhere.

Gabby Barrett along with engineer Jason Hall and producer Jay Joyce each have four nominations. Then, there is a big group of artists behind them with three. Those artists include Brothers Osborne, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, and Chris Young.

As for the night’s biggest honor, Entertainer of the Year. Church, Stapleton, Combs, Lambert, and Carrie Underwood are all up for the top award. Voting is still going on. The ballots must be completed by Wednesday, the 27th. That is three weeks out. CMA members have a hard choice ahead of them for many categories.

No matter who takes home EOTY this is going to be a fun night and should include some fun performances as well at the CMA Awards.
