ACM Awards 2021: Thomas Rhett Wins Male Vocalist of the Year

The ACM Awards 2021 Male Vocalist of the Year is Thomas Rhett, who could only think of others in thanks for the award.

The country star immediately listed off the health service workers that were in attendance. He also shouted out his wife, Lauren Akins and their three kids, who ended up watching from home.

Finally, in a touching display, he referred to his fellow nominees as his “heroes,” clearly taken back by winning the award. This isn’t anything new for Thomas Rhett, though.

This marks his third win in the category, and he also has an Entertainer of the Year award to boot.

Other Nominees for ACM Awards’ Male Vocalist of the Year

Chris Stapleton had a total of six nominations in four categories for his work as an artist, producer, and songwriter. He led this year’s nominations alongside Maren Morris. Stapleton is up for Entertainer of the Year along with Song of the Year for “Starting Over,” and Album of the Year for Starting Over (album).  Stapleton took the stage to perform”Maggie’s Song” during the telecast.

Dierks Bentley performed a cover of U2’s “Pride (In The Name of Love)” with The Way and Treaty. Bentley’s video “Gone” was Bentley was nominated for Video of the Year. However, Kane Brown won the award for “Worldwide Beautiful.”

Eric Church won last year’s CMA Entertainer of the Year award and is nominated for the ACM EOTY. He is also nominated for Musical Event of the Year for “Does To Me” with Luke Combs. Church performed “Bunch of Nothing” to the delight of fans during the show.

Luke Combs was also nominated for Entertainer of the Year. Additionally, he was up for Musical Event of the Year for “Does to Me” with Eric Church. Combs performed a stunning rendition of “Forever After All” during the show.

Thomas Rhett was the reigning ACM Co-Entertainer of the Year alongside Carrie Underwood coming into the night. During the show, he gave the premiere performance of “What’s Your Country Song” and “Country Again.” Rhett was nominated for EOTY and Music Event of the Year for “Be A Light.”
