AMA Awards 2020: Shania Twain Posts Photo of 2019 Performance, Wishes Nominees Good Luck

Shania Twain can’t help but remember the good times.

On Sunday, the country singer posted to Instagram a photo of herself performing at the 2019 AMA Awards.

Twain Recalls Living Her Best Life

“This time last year I was living my best life onstage at the @amas,” Twain wrote. “Good luck to all the nominees tonight! #AMAs”

In 2019, Twain brought the crowd to its feet with her renditions of “Still the one,” “Any Man of Mine,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.”

Twain appeared onstage in a daring outfit: a bright pink cape with full sleeves over an orange leotard with fishnet stockings and black boots.

Daring Outfit, Difficult Journey

But the singer confessed on a recent episode of “The Kelleigh Bannen Show” that she’s struggled to feel comfortable in her own skin.

“Well, I would say that I’ve grown into that, and I’m still growing into it,” Twain said. “Well, I would be lying if I said I was always comfortable in my own skin. But what I like to share with people, with women, with the audience is that you’ve got to go there. You have to go into that danger zone of discovering yourself, and accepting yourself for you who you are.”

“It’s not been an easy journey,” she added. “And I would like to say that, through my music, if it’s holding somebody else’s hand to say, screw it or whatever, I’m just going to let my hair down, and have some fun, accept who I am. And I would say almost force yourself into your comfort zone, in your own skin. It’s not easy. It’s a challenge.”

Here’s hoping that Twain, in Switzerland or wherever she is now, can find a way to live her best life even in the era of social distancing.
