Billy Ray Cyrus Emphasizes Pair of Martin Luther King JR. Quotes on MLK Day

Billy Ray Cyrus is back at it on social media, but today he’s sharing a tweet that encourages his fans to recognize the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Cyrus’s post doesn’t have a caption other than #MLKDay. He includes two quote-images that spell out wise words from Martin Luther King, Jr.

The first one reads, “The time is always right to do what is right.” Then the second one says, “I have decided to stick to love… hate is too great a burden to bear.”

The tweet has 91 likes in the first 40 minutes. Billy Ray Cyrus joins other country music celebrities in offering up social media posts. Trisha Yearwood honors MLK with a quote about love. Tim McGraw shares the same quote about love versus hate.

Billy Ray Cyrus is Breaking Records

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer has recently made headlines and it’s for one of his biggest songs. “Old Town Road” just went Platinum, again, well for the 14th time.

“Incredible. I’m speechless. #OTR is now 14x platinum and the most certified song in music history. Thank YOU!” Cyrus shared in a Twitter post. His cohort on the song additionally shared the message. “Old Town Road is officially 14 times platinum! Most platinums for any song ever! Let’s gooo!” Lil Nas writes.

This collaboration behind “Old Town Road” all started with a tweet. The rapper randomly posted a message that he wanted Cyrus to remix the song with him. A few takes later and a couple of years later the song is still gaining popularity.

Billy Ray Cyrus explains to TV host and singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson why the song has continued success.

“We’re all starting brand new again,” Cyrus told Clarkson in the remote interview. “And you’re right. We all love ‘Old Town Road.’ When we hear it, we go back to 2019. I know I do. I loved 2019. I’m looking forward to 2021.”
