Blake Shelton Has Eyes Set On One Wedding Performer: ‘He Owes Me a Lot’

Having two world-famous artists like Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani get married means that the couple has no shortage of people to perform at their wedding. But who will take the cake?

In a recent interview on Late Night with Seth Meyer, Blake Shelton reveals who he wants to be the artist to perform on the special day, saying “he owes me a lot.”

In 2011, the hit singing competition, The Voice, debuted with four celebrity judges Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. Of those judges, Adam Levine stuck around with Shelton for sixteen seasons. As a result, Shelton says the 41-year-old singing heartthrob will be the one to perform at his wedding.

“You know, I’ve kind of decided that you know, I’ve been doing this a long time now, and I’ve got a lot of favors out there. And he may not like it, but Adam Levine is going to have to get the band together and come and play our wedding.”

Blake Shelton then references Levine’s hit 2015 song, “Sugar.” In the song’s movie video, Levine would surprise couples by performing at their wedding. Shelton says that it is a done deal.

“I’ve already seen a music video where they crash people’s weddings. And he owes me a lot for just putting up with him over the years. So maybe we can get Adam to come be our wedding band. Not maybe. We are going to.”

The old friend jokes about Maroon 5’s music, calling the three-time Grammy and eight-time Billboard Music Award winner “boring.”

“Plus, their music is so boring that it won’t distract from the festivities and the reception and all that stuff.”

Oh and Bake, we’re still waiting on that wedding invite…
