The deluxe edition of country star Blake Shelton’s newest album is coming out soon, and fans will finally get to hear the song he wrote for his wife Gwen Stefani as a wedding gift.
Body Language is getting an update on Dec. 3 when the deluxe version of his newest album releases. Although we’re about two months away from the release date, Shelton shared the tracklist over the weekend. It will feature four brand new songs, including the new single “Come Back as a Country Boy.” Additionally, there are some new collaborations with huge guest performers along with the wedding song he wrote for Stefani.
The deluxe edition features the new track “Throw It Back” with country legends Brooks & Dunn. Songwriter and singer HARDY co-wrote and performs on “Fire Up The Night.” And we can’t leave out Blake Shelton’s wedding day song to Gwen Stefani, which is titled “We Can Reach The Stars.”
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Highway in late July, Shelton opened up about the intimate song. He’s proud of the track and proud to be Stefani’s husband. Therefore he decided to release it for all to hear.
“I think it’s something I want to share because I’m really proud of it,” Blake Shelton explained. “And I’m, I, you know, to me, a marriage, a ceremony is you’re not keeping it private when you get married to somebody. You’re announcing to the world, ‘Hey, this is my wife, just so everybody knows.’ That’s why we wear these rings. You know, this is where we’re together now. And I feel that way about the song. It’s like, you know, for me something that I want people to hear and know, and because I’m proud to be married to Gwen and so proud of that song.”
Blake Shelton Jokes That ‘We Have to Put Gwen on Every Song’ Now
While the deluxe version of Body Language is on the way, the album was already a success when it came out on May 21. The single “Happy Anywhere” that includes his wife Gwen Stefani helped garner plenty of interest in his 12th studio album. Their duet came out last year and went on to top Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart. It’s the second chart-topping duet the couple have released together, and the second to hit No. 1.
Last month, Blake Shelton headlined Music City’s Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Previous to the concert, he and Stefani joined his record label, songwriters, and publishers to celebrate the couple’s two chart-topping duets. As usual, Shelton was feeling humorous when he joked that they’d have to include Stefani on all his singles going forward now.
“[We] were laughing earlier that we now know we have to put Gwen on every song I release from now on if we want it to work. ‘Austin’ (his first No. 1 single) was 20 years ago this year. To think that 20 years later I would still be standing here is my dream come true. And it’s because of the songwriters in this town,” Shelton said at the event.
