Blake Shelton Opens Up About Being in ‘Blown Away Fan Shocked Mode’ Working With Fiancée Gwen Stefani

Blake Shelton has nothing but incredible things to say about his fianceé, both in the personal sense and the professional. Shelton and Stefani grew close while filming for The Voice, and started dating shortly after. Now, the two are engaged and release music together.

Throughout their relationship, they’ve recorded four songs together. While it sounds like an unlikely duo, whatever they do seems to work. Their duet, Nobody But You, hit #18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

For Shelton and songwriters alike, the experience working with Gwen Stefani is mind-blowing. Even though he’s engaged to her, Shelton told Apple Music that he’s “still more in blown away fan shocked mode when I actually work with her.”

Stefani has even taken to performing with Shelton. She often surprises fans at Blake Shelton’s concerts. Shelton adores surprising the audience with his fiance.

“We’ll have a plan if she’s at one of my concerts and we always try to keep it on the down-low,” he said, but keeping it on the “down-low” doesn’t last for long.

“And here I am dying from the time I stand on stage, walk out on stage until that moment hits, because I know on that setlist people are going to s— in their seats when Gwen Stefani walks out here. It’s like I’m a kid on Christmas morning. And so that’s what it’s like for me working with her. It’s just exciting, it really is,” he said.

Blake Shelton’s Team Recently Won The Voice

Blake Shelton has been on The Voice since its beginning. This year, his experience paid off big time when a member of his team Cam Anthony, won the competition. Before The Voice Anthony was a viral sensation who made it on The Ellen Show and even got to sing at the White House.

He didn’t just go viral out of nowhere, either. Anthony’s got serious talent to back up his impressive resume, which now includes a win on The Voice. In fact, Blake Shelton liked him so much that during his audition, he promised Anthony that if he chose to sing with team Blake, he wouldn’t select anyone in his genre to join the team.

For The Voice, that’s a huge promise. Clearly, it paid off big time. Nick Jonas also used his block on John Legend during Anthony’s audition, essentially making it impossible for Anthony to wind up on Legend’s team.

Thankfully for Shelton, Anthony picked Blake, and he once again got a win.
