Blake Shelton, Shenandoah, Release New Single ‘Then A Girl Walks In’

by Jon D. B.

Blake Shelton has joined forces with Shenandoah for the release of their stellar “Then a Girl Walks In” single from the band’s forthcoming album, Every Road.

When is more of anything from Blake Shelton not a good thing? The country icon is riding on cloud nine for the past decade. While hosting the Voice with fiance Gwen Stefani, Shelton has risen to meteoric fame as the longest-running coach. He’s become a household name, and his already wildly successful music career has skyrocketed as a result.

Now, Blake Shelton is joining forces with country band Shenandoah for the release of Then a Girl Walks In as a single. The song will feature on the band’s new album Every Road, which drops Nov. 13.

Both Shelton and Shenandoah’s Marty Raybon harmonize vocals for the track. The subject? A love song about “finding the perfect girl.”

According to People, their collaboration came together when Raybon came to Shelton at last year’s CMAs. Raybon got to talking to Shelton, and with a slap on the shoulder, told the star of their upcoming album. “We want you on it,” Raybon says he added. And Shelton reply sent him over the moon.

“Send me the song and I’m in.”

“We knew Blake must be a Shenandoah fan when he picked one of our songs for the past four seasons in a row on The Voice for his artists to sing, but we never dreamed we’d have the opportunity to actually do a duet with him personally,” Shenandoah’s Mike McGuire continues. “What a blessing! Garth [Brooks] may have friends in ‘low’ places but we have friends in HIGH places. Thanks, Blake.”

Raybon continues to People magazine, “Blake Shelton is truly a big piece of this new record. His vocals are as solid as a slab of concrete. This would not be a today’s country music duets album without him being a part of it.”
