Blake Shelton’s “inner saboteur” may come out in tonight’s episode of “The Voice.” The country singer has been known for his rivalry with the other judges on the show. Shelton is looking to retain his championship as the show enters its Knockout phase.
The singer shared a clip from the episode in which Kelly Clarkson asks him not to sabotage her. Shelton captioned the clip with, “No promises @KellyClarkson.. my inner saboteur may come out to say hello!”

The Knockout phase of the show will continue to whittle down each of the judge’s teams before the Live episodes. Competing artists will only discover who their competition is minutes before they perform. It will come down to the judges to decide who stays and who goes home.
Blake Shelton Won the Competition in Season 18
This isn’t Shelton’s first rodeo. Currently, he’s the only judge to appear in every season of the competition since it started. Previously, Adam Levine also appeared in every season alongside Shelton, but the Maroon 5 singer left the show after Season 17.
Shelton is currently the reigning champion, having won the competition in Season 18. If Shelton has his way, he isn’t prepared to lose the crown without a fight. This may also be the last year to beat fiancé Gwen Stefani.
For Season 20, Shelton, Clarkson, and John Legend will return as judges for the competition. Stefani will be replaced by Nick Jonas in the judges’ chair. Whether she returns for season 21 remains to be seen. Taking a break from judging duties fits Stefani’s previous patterns.
The singer usually appears in odd-numbered seasons of the show. She takes a year off in between. Previously, Stefani was a judge in Season 17 of the show. Viewers will have to tune in to see who ultimately wins Season 19.
