Brantley Gilbert Bags Massive Elk on the ‘Hunt of a Lifetime’

On Monday (October 11th), country superstar Brantley Gilbert took to his Instagram to share snapshots of him bagging a buck while hunting this weekend.

“Can’t thank Lee and Tiffany Lakosky and the Hill Ranch enough for another elk hunt of a lifetime,” Brantley Gilbert captioned the post. The images included a pic of the buck and the country singer using a bow.

Brantley Gilbert is currently preparing to go back on tour. This weekend he’ll be the New Country 101FiveFest in Alpharetta, Georgia. He’ll also perform at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, Florida. After those two shows, Gilbert will be taking a month off before resuming in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Brantley Gilbert Opens Up About His Music & 2019 Album ‘Fire and Brimstone’

During a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Brantley Gilbert opened up about his 2019 album Fire and Brimstone. “The them of this record basically is showcased with [Fire and Brimstone] song. It kind of sums it up.”

Brantley Gilbert then said that with him and his wife, there’s a personal journey from being a boy to a man. “A wild man to kind of settling to become a dad and there’s my spiritual walk,” Gilbert explained. “It starts off with [the song] A Lost Soul’s Prayer. Which is a prayer itself. But it’s all wrong.”

The country singer then noted that if you listen to A Lost Soul’s Prayer you’ll see what he was trying to do with showing people where he got to one point. “I’d gone away from something [his faith]. I’d be raised to value and something that’d always been my true north and my safe place to land.”

Brantley Gilbert also spoke about how his wife, Amber, broke up with him at one point, causing the country singer to struggle a bit, behavior-wise. “I told [Amber] a couple of years back, we were kind of talking about the old days, and I told her, ‘Man, you don’t understand. I’d take you out and I’d wear myself out staying clean. Not smoking, not doing anything. When I dropped you off, I’d have half of a bottle of Jaeger down before I got to the end of the driveway.’”

Gilbert does explain that things have obviously changed. He says he thinks that’s another thing this record is supposed to show. “Like I said earlier, it’s supposed to show that growth in our relationship, and my growth just as a man. I feel like it does that, without preaching a whole lot on this one.”

In regards to all of his albums, Gilbert added, “I feel like through the years, people, really not just the songs, but the bodies of work and my career as a whole, they can go back and listen to a story. It’s just like reading a book.”
