Carrie Underwood Fans are Calling Out the CMA Awards After Country Star is Snubbed for Major Award

Carrie Underwood, one of the most popular country music artists of recent years, was not nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year this year. And, unsurprisingly, fans of the 38-year-old singer are not happy about it.

Underwood not being nominated is a bit of a shock. Especially when you consider that 2021 is the only time she has not been nominated for that award in 15 years. Or so reports Yahoo! Life. So, you can’t really blame her fans for being upset.

And like most people do these days, fans of Carrie Underwood decided to voice their opinions about this on social media. Many of them did so in response to a tweet by the CMAs. This was the Sept. 9 tweet that announced the nominees for Female Vocalist of the Year.

Fans Share Their Surprise that Carrie Underwood Did Not Received a CMA Nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year

One of the comments came from @RCodyHall. “Y’all do know @carrieunderwood is alive right? How can you nominate her for EOY and not Female Vocalist?”

“Where the f*** is @carrieunderwood. No offense to these ladies but they can’t beat Carrie in terms of talent even if their lives depended on it,” @carrie07241 also commented.

This user also added another post in support of Carrie Underwood. “This is the highest level of disrespect. How can you not nominate (someone) who’s been promoting and carrying country music the best way possible? You have no credibility whatsoever. Give @carrieunderwood justice. Or just stop this rigged show.”

“None of these women even compare to @carrieunderwood. She’s the best vocalist and she’s had a heck of a year …” @BritniGoad_B also commented.

Fans Also Commented on Other Artists They Thought Were Snubbed by CMAs

A few country music fans were upset that other female artists weren’t up for Female Vocalist of the Year.

For example, Carrie Underwood wasn’t the only artist @ansteever thought should be on the list. “Hey @CountryMusic you’re missing a few ladies here – like @carrieunderwood and @KelseaBallerini.”

Another country music fan also wanted to know why another respected artist was up for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. “Where is @trishayearwood who has the greatest voice in country music?” @jg2924 also wanted to know.

The list of nominees for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year includes Carly Pearce, Marren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Miranda Lambert, and Gabby Barrett.

Other fans took to Twitter to share their support for their other favorite female artists. Pearce, Morris, McBryde, and Barrett were all mentioned at least once.

While she was not included on this list, Carrie Underwood is up for a major award at the CMAs. She is one of the nominees for Entertainer of the Year. Also nominated for this award are Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, and Luke Combs.

At the 2020 CMA Awards, Carrie Underwood won both Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. The 2021 CMA Awards will air on Wednesday, Nov. 10, on ABC.
