Country singer Carrie Underwood is collaborating with Spanish pop musician David Bisbal on a new song, “Tears of Gold,” and on an accompanying music video.

Underwood Duets with Bisbal

“Thank you @davidbisbal for inviting me to be part of ‘Tears of Gold’ and your new album!” Underwood tweeted Saturday. She also added the link for fans to find the music video.

The song will be included on the re-release of Bisbal’s album En Tus Planes, which will come out Dec. 11. It’s a bilingual track, with both artists singing in English as well as Spanish.

“I am very proud of our first collaboration,” Bisbal said in a statement. “The video was shot in Los Angeles and it was very special because I love Carrie and truly admire her courage. She has shown a profound admiration for the Spanish language with her wonderful vocals on the track and I am honored to collaborate with Carrie on her first bilingual Spanish song. I hope you enjoy the blend of country and pop music on ‘Tears of Gold’ as much as we do.”

In the video, the musicians sing in a Los Angeles warehouse and then on a rooftop overlooking the city at night. They take turns singing in each language.

Blessings Amid the Pandemic

Underwood has had a busy year despite the pandemic. She just rolled out the Christmas special “My Gift: A Christmas Special from Carrie Underwood” on HBO Max. And she’s out with a new Christmas album, “My Gift,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country, Christian and Holiday charts.

This most recent album is the eighth Underwood record to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart, according to the Oklahoman. It includes multiple covers of Christmas classics mixed in with a few original songs.

“I planned this album long before this year smacked us all in the face, and I’m so glad I did,” Underwood recently told the Tennessean. “It was a blessing in a trying year.”
