While Carrie Underwood has nailed down the singing part (the eight Grammys speak for themselves), she’s taken to social media to get some clarification on fruit, specifically tiny bananas.

On Saturday, the 37-year-old posed the question via her Instagram stories.

“I have a question, I’m about to blow your mind. What are these?! What are these tiny bananas?” she asked as she held up the fun-size fruit to the camera.

“I have never seen…I have never seen tiny bananas before. How did this work? Do you just pick them small? Or is this just a whole, like, a whole new breed of banana? And they just come like this? What is happening? What is this tiny banana?”

Even though she’s a worldwide megastar, Underwood proved she’s just like us when it comes to asking the somewhat silly yet essential questions.

Like Underwood, our minds were blown too when we discovered there over 500 different banana varieties. Although, only a fraction of those makes it to grocery stores. The type of banana Underwood refers to is the “finger banana,” a term used for the dainty banana. Also known as Baby or Niño Bananas, they’re known for being short, chubby, and average three inches in length. They’re also sometimes sold as “Lady Finger” bananas. But don’t let their size fool you; they also have a sweet, creamy taste when ripe.

Carrie Underwood’s Health & Fitness Journey

The American-Idol winner is no stranger to eating healthy. After going on her debut tour in 2005, she read some unfriendly social media comments about her appearance. As a result, she began her health and fitness journey. In an interview, she says, “I knew I could be better for myself, and I let my haters be my motivators.”

Surprisingly, Underwood discovered that her decisions around food would make a drastic impact on her performances. She gained more energy and endurance, making her a better artist for her fans.

Underwood’s typical meals include tofu or egg-white scramble, Ezekiel toast, berries, and coffee for breakfast; a sandwich with Tofurky tomato, avocado, red onion, spinach, and mustard for lunch; a green smoothie or protein bar for a snack; and then roasted veggies and vegan chicken or tofu stir-fry for dinner. She also pairs her food with strength training and cardio.
