Could we potentially be seeing another in the Underwood-Fisher fam performing someday? Well, not for many years, but Carrie Underwood’s 5-year-old son, Isaiah has expressed his desire to follow in his mother’s footsteps.
We are all for it, but he has some big shoes to fill.
“My son loves to sing,” Underwood said. “He wants to watch musical movies and learns all the songs. And he has my lyrical brain. If nothing else, he gets to come to the studio and see what his mom does and have this memory and this moment.”
Underwood’s Christmas Album Featuring Isaiah
In Carrie Underwood‘s recent and first full-length Christmas album “My Gift,” Isaiah makes an appearance in the song Little Drummer Boy.
“First, I want to throw out — I had no idea how it was going to work out,” she said about the duet. “Whenever I think about that song, I picture (Isaiah’s) face and personality — that is so him.”
“He would be the kid that would make you something and bring it to you because that’s what he had to give you. That’s the whole sentiment behind ‘Little Drummer Boy.’ (He) is bringing what he has to Jesus, which is why I wanted to name my album ‘My Gift,’ because I feel like the gift of music is such a blessing in my life. I really want to give that back to Jesus.”
Although Underwood admits that she was the “proudest mom in the world,” she doesn’t want people to think she is “a stage mom.”
“He put his little heart into it. (Isaiah) was throwing his arms in the air. He was just feeling every word that he was singing, which was very special for me to watch.”
Future In Music
In addition, Underwood said she fully supports her son’s dreams, just not at his current age.
“Not at 5. This was a special one-off thing. I hope people don’t think, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s going to be such a momager, pushing him into the music industry.’ He can do whatever he feels like the good Lord is telling him he needs to be doing. But I would definitely support, especially if it’s in something like country music because I love our family.”
Who knows, maybe in the future we will see the Underwood and Fisher quartet.
