Carrie Underwood opens up about working with iconic names like Loretta Lynn and Reba McEntire on the song “Still Woman Enough.”

“Behind the Scenes of Still Woman Enough,” Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire reveal their thoughts on working with one another. Underwood says that she is so happy to finally get to work with Loretta Lynn after all this time.

“This is the first time I’ve had the honor of getting to sing with Loretta. I’ve sang for Loretta. I’ve sang around Loretta, but I’ve never sang with Loretta. All of those things are really great, but this is just the icing on the cake.”

Carrie Underwood Talks Girl Power

When Carrie Underwood heard the name of the title song for the album, she knew that it was going to be legendary, especially when you consider all the features from country music’s leading female voices.

The 38-years-old artist says that each of them was helpful in “lifting each other up.” Underwood says that it was an amazing experience to be a part of.

“When we were talking about doing this, and you hear the song title, ‘Still Woman Enough,’ it’s like, you know it’s going to be kind of something sassy,” reveals Underwood. “Then when I heard it, it definitely made sense that the three of us would be singing it together. It does kind of feel like this, you know, not just a female get-together song. We are kind of lifting each other up. We’re kind of singing together, and I love moments like that, where we get to that. We get to do things like that together.”

Carrie Underwood explains how important Loretta Lynn was to her growing up. She also says that Loretta Lynn highlighted the “diamond age of women in country music.”

“I feel like Loretta and artists like her, especially female artists like her, are so important to people like me because we grew up watching them and believing that that was possible for us. You know, and we got to see kind of the diamond age of women in country music with Loretta. With all the rhinestones and the dresses and just kind of the way it should be.”

Margo Price and Tanya Tucker join Loretta Lynn for their own kick*ss duet featured on the album. The Still Woman Enough album was released on March 19, so just a few days ago.
