Congratulations, Carrie Underwood!
Obviously, Carrie Underwood is a superstar. We all know that! And we’re happy to see that even more people are giving Underwood the recognition she deserves. Most recently, the Gospel Music Association nominated Carrie Underwood for two of their Dove Awards.
Underwood is up for the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year award for her album, My Savior. She’s also up for the Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year award for her collaboration song with CeCe Winans, “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”
Carrie Underwood released My Savior earlier this year. The album debuted #1 on the Billboard Country chart, making it her ninth consecutive release to do so. In doing so, Underwood also extended her record as the only artist to debut at number one with all nine of her album releases from the beginning of her career. Wow, that alone is something that deserves an award!
Carrie Underwood Said Creating My Savior Brought Her Peace
We all know that the past year and a half have been a little unpredictable. And not even country music superstars like Carrie Underwood were immune to the stress that unpredictability brought. So, Underwood did what she does best, she turned to music. But she also turned to God in her music. During an interview from earlier this year, Underwood talked about how she felt like she was praying the whole time she recorded My Savior.
“Oh, I feel like the entire time that we were making the album, I felt like I was praying the whole time,” said Underwood. “
Carrie Underwood added that being able to turn to her music and faith over the past year really brought her some peace during the chaos.
“It was all just so hopeful and inspirational and joyful in such a time when there’s so much fear and having no idea what was around the corner, or what the next month or week would bring,” said Underwood. “Getting to work on this music was peaceful for me.”
For anyone who just cannot get enough of Carrie Underwood’s latest album, you’re in luck! Underwood recently announced that she’ll be releasing a special edition version of her debut Christmas album, My Gift. On September 24, she’ll release her album My Gift (Special Edition) on CD/digital. Additionally, the record will be released on vinyl on November 5. Not only does the album include all of the songs everyone loves from My Gift, but it will also feature three additional tracks.
Shortly after the release of the album, Carrie Underwood fans can tune in to the 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards. The awards will be held live and in-person on Tuesday, October 19 at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville. The ceremony will be broadcast worldwide on Friday, October 22 through TBN.
