Carrie Underwood got into the holiday spirit early this year. Just over three months ago, she and John Legend released a song called “Hallelujah.” The song is a powerful and moving performance from two of the best people in music. And even better, the music video is a goosebump inciting work of art.
Today, however, on December 16, Underwood is giving the public a sneak peek into how the music video was made. She posted a video to Twitter, just under two minutes long, of a behind-the-scenes look at the shooting of the video.
Underwood is certainly proud of the work that she and John Legend did together on this song. So, take a moment and watch this staggeringly beautiful music video come together with a behind-the-scenes look. The two singers bring Christmas to life.
Underwood and Legend beautifully duet the song while the camera rolls. Even though she talks about how weird it was to film everything with masks on, but says that the whole experience was amazing.
More importantly, Underwood acknowledges that the global population is struggling and feels that this song might help. On Instagram, she says as much.
“This song and its message are much needed right now, and I’m honored to have it on my Christmas album, My Gift. I hope you like it.”
Underwood and Legend Filming Together
In filming this video, she relates to the process of coming up with the song and the idea. Underwood and Legend didn’t actually get to be together creating the song. So, she talks about how cool being able to be in the same place as the singer was.
Earlier in November, Underwood said in an interview that she has been ready for a Christmas album for the entire pandemic.
“It has been in my heart to do a Christmas album for years, and we started planning this last year when we finished the Cry Pretty Tour 360. Who would have known what would happen in the world since then, and how much we would all be ready for the hope and joy that Christmas music embodies this year more than ever.”
Legend is also apart of Underwood’s My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood, which is streaming on HBO Max. It’s safe to say that the two incredible singers work well together. Perhaps they will collaborate for more duets in the future.
