Country music star Carrie Underwood takes fans behind the scenes of her new gospel song, “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus”.

Carrie Underwood states that the song is part of her birthday gift to fans. The Oklahoma native celebrated her special 38th birthday yesterday, March 10

#NothingButTheBloodOfJesus is my birthday gift to YOU! Thanks to Bear Rinehart of @needtobreathe for harmonizing with me! #MySavior ✨🙏 “

The video starts with Carrie Underwood and switches between an interview and the star in the studio, creating the beautiful hymn.

“‘Nothing But the Blood of Jesus,’ I feel like this one was one we were searching for, like what it should be. Because it’s like ‘What can wash away my sin? Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.’ It’s just very kind of loopy and really only thought of one way to do the song and then trying to kind of mess with it a little bit.”

The video cuts away to Carrie Underwood talking to her production team. The veteran artist brings up the idea of keeping things simple for the song.

“So what if we kept this one kind of more acoustic, like, just minimal.”

Carrie Underwood and Bear Rinehart’s Beautiful Voices

Carrie Underwood introduces the other angelic voice that will accompany her for the song, Bear Rinehart. Rinehart is the lead singer of the South Carolina rock band, NeedToBreathe.

“We kind of put some tempo behind it and wanted to add these harmonies on it. We decided to ask Bear Rinehart, the frontman of NeedToBreathe. I’m definitely a fan of him and that band. We’re talking about how we could hear a certain voice mix. Just kind of make it sound a little more current, and I really feel like we did that.”
