Carrie Underwood Releasing Gospel Album in March
“My Savior” is currently available for pre-order. It will be released on March 26. According to her website, the album will be available on vinyl on April 30. Carrie Underwood talked about the album in a trailer that was recently released.
“This album is one that I have always wanted to make,” the singer says at the beginning of the trailer. “This is legacy stuff to me. I feel like at the heart of it all is an album like this one.”
She goes on to talk about how it was important to her to include “familiar” songs on her “My Savior” album. “I wanted to do the traditional songs that I grew up singing,” Underwood said. “The songs on this album are literally songs I have heard since birth.”
Carrie Underwood also talks about attending church while she was growing up during the trailer.
“We had our little church … My first one probably would have been just very tiny – wooden pews,” she said. “It was probably the first place where I sang, as well, was in church; singing these hymns in the congregation as well as being on stage and singing in front of people. It was always just familiar. These songs are like a warm hug. …”
